IELTS assesses all of your English skills — reading, writing, listening and speaking, and is designed to reflect how you will use English at study, at work, and at play, in your new life abroad.

The IELTS test is developed by some of the world’s leading experts in language assessment. It has an excellent international reputation, and is accepted by over 10,000 organisations worldwide, including schools, universities, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies.

IELTS is the most widely accepted English language test that uses a one-on-one speaking test to assess your English communication skills. This means that you are assessed by having a real-life conversation with a real person. This is the most effective and natural way of testing your English conversation skills.

IELTS Academic Exam Preparation

Improve your overall score in all 4 parts of the IELTS English exam; Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening.

In this class you will prepare for all sections of the IELTS exam. You will be taught exam tips and techniques, be given practice tests to do in your own time and receive feedback on your work and advice on when to book your exam date.

Things you learn

  • Writing – The key to writing an excellent IELTS essay is to firstly understand what the question is asking, secondly, to plan a structured answer and thirdly, to develop your arguments with relevant examples. You will learn how to plan your essay, increase your vocabulary on typical IELTS topics and receive feedback on your writing skills.
  • Speaking – We believe the key to your success in the IELTS speaking exam comes from 2 things. Firstly, you need to feel at ease and be confident speaking about yourself and presenting your ideas. Secondly, you need to be ready with a range of ideas about potential IELTS topics. On this course you will have plenty of opportunity to explore ideas for typical IELTS themes and to practise speaking about them under exam like conditions.
  • Reading – The reading part of the IELTS exam requires speed and accuracy. On this course you will find out which reading techniques work best for you and develop skills to overcome areas where you are not getting high scores. You will be asked to do tests in your own time, as class time will be dedicated to developing your reading techniques.
  • Listening – We believe that to develop your listening skills for IELTS you need a good understanding of English pronunciation, tone and stress. On this course we teach you important elements of English pronunciation that change according to the meaning. You will get lots of listening practise in class and we also ask you to do practice tests in your own time.
